Baby By Day....Super Hero By Night!

I have been playing on Pinterest lately (my new addiction, I seriously have to limit myself at how long I spend on it) and the other day I found a picture of a baby that had a bib that said "These dang fools put my cape on backwards"...I thought it was hilarious and it made me curious to see how a bib would look on Quintin as a cape.

I think it makes him look like a pretty cute superhero, don't you think?

When Quintin is not having to use his super hero powers to save the world, he is busy playing in his bouncer seat and taking naps in his crib (which he will be sleeping in at night after thanksgiving when all of our family leaves)
And here is are little superhero just lounging in his hat....he is seriously so cute! We are totally smitten by this little boy!

What Quintin has been up to lately

Q has been growing like a weed lately! We took him last week for his 2 month check up and he weighed in at 10 lbs 8 oz, then 4 days later we ended up having to take him into the Dr.'s for  a clogged tear duct that was causing his eye to be swollen shut at which point they weighed him again and he was 10 lbs. 14 oz. Today I took him again to the Dr's because eye just keeps draining "goopy" crud as I put it, when they weighed him today almost a week later he had was at 11 lbs 7 oz!  I love chubby babies and he is getting some nice baby fat rolls on his thighs and his cheeks are getting chubby too-which I love to kiss!

He's been sleeping so good lately, he takes 3 good naps during  the day and usually falls asleep somewhere between 8:30 and 9 and sleeps until about 4:30 or 5 am, I get up and feed him and he goes back down til about 7 or 7:30. He really is such a happy, content baby!

Here is some of things he's been up to lately:
* He laughs in his sleep
* He loves car rides
* He loves his baths...we joke and call him a spa baby!
* He has discovered that it is cool to look in mirrors
* He is finally out of his newborn clothes, which has caused me to play dress up with him more since he has so many fun and cute "real man" clothes  that are size 3 months and up.
* He loves to lay on our bed and watch the ceiling fan
* He has become a drool machine...time for all of the cute bibs we bought him to be worn

Here are some pictures to show what he has been up to lately:

This was last week after having to go to the Dr's for his eye, poor baby just wanted to be couch potato...he was chillin with dad and watching TV...he and dad want a "man cave" some day where they can have a big screen TV and not have to share the remote with mom :)

Here he is trying to ride his dad's bike...too bad his legs aren't long enough! Come spring we're going to have to buy a bike trailer so that Robert can take him on rides with him. The kid loves motion so I am sure he'll love it.

Oh I love his little face! Doesn't he look like he is ready to go to school with those little jeans and polo shirt on? I have way too much fun dressing this kid up, he just has too many cute clothes!

And here is a video where he is showing off his new trick...walking. The Dr told us this is just a stepping reflex, so he's probably not really walking, but it's still pretty cool we think, but we are first time parents so he drools and we think it's pretty cool. It's easy to get excited over anything he does lately!

Our Little Man

Okay after many requests and finally converting our pictures to JPG's, here are some pictures of our little man. I know I am biased, but you have to admit...the kid is dang cute!

So a Carter's store just opened here in Waco and I have had to resist going weekly to buy Q clothes. I love all of the cute outfits that they have. Here Q is in his "real man" clothes as I call them. He wore this for his Sunday to church....doesn't he look like he could be on the cover of GQ magazine????

Oh, I just want to eat this kid up, he is sooo cute!!! Wearing more "real man" clothes...he looks like he belongs at some ski resort in this outfit-if only we lived closer to mountains! I have a wardrobe full of cute outfits for him and I fight the urge to play dress up with him!
A couple in the ward here in Waco gave us these cute John Deer Boots for Quintin as a baby shower gift and I had to use them for  a Halloween costume, so Q went as a cowboy with his boots, I tried to find a little cowboy hat but couldn't come up with one.
Here's the muscular prodigy...holding his head up! This kid seriously has some crazy muscle strength!
This is Q after an exhausting session of "tummy time". I just love his little face!
I love this...napping with his stomach hanging out! I am totally in love with this little man and can't get enough of his cuteness!

2 Month Check Up

Well, baby Q is 9 weeks old this week and we took him this morning for his 2 month check up and we're happy to report that we have a healthy growing baby! He weighs 10 lbs 8 oz (at birth he was 7lbs 3 oz) and is 22 inches long. Now, he is a little short according to the charts, but lets be honest here...who really expected him to be as tall as the Jolly Green Giant when his mom is barely 5" feet tall! It's not in his genes to be super tall, but that's ok because as my mom always said..."the best things always come in small packages" ! The pediatrician assured that he is right where he is suppose to be for his age. Actually, he is ahead of the curve in one area...his muscle strength. The kid is a "muscular prodigy" as one of my friends put it! He can roll over already, he holds his head up all the way, and can push himself up on his legs if he sits on your lap! The nurses were amazed and then we showed the doctor and he about dropped his mouth, he didn't believe us at first and asked us "how old is he again" as he looked at Quintin's chart. I am pretty sure that this kid is going to be crawling and walking before I know it...he's going to keep me on my toes.
The little guy got a bunch of vaccinations today too. I don't know who was in more pain from them, Quintin or Robert and I. It broke my heart to hear him cry like that! I am so glad that we don't have to do shots very often. All in all, he was a good sport about it! We sure do love this little boy! I knew life was going to be spectacular with this little man here, but it's so much more than I ever expected...he brings an amount of joy to our lives that can't be measured!
